Seasons Realism+ is built for Vibrant Visuals. Here's what you need, what to set on your device, and how to claw back frames when you need them.
The pack's lighting, fog, water, and PBR textures only render in the Vibrant Visuals graphics mode. Set it under Settings > Video > Graphics Mode. Split-screen play falls back to Fancy graphics, so the pack's look is single-screen only.
The native Switch 2 edition of Minecraft runs Vibrant Visuals by default and supports Vibrant Visuals Marketplace content, so Seasons Realism+ comes with it. The original Switch does not support Vibrant Visuals.
Starting points, not limits. If it runs smoothly, push render distance up one step at a time.
Android and iOS devices that meet the minimums
Effects: Keep Northern Lights off. Turn off Snowstorms and Enhanced Rain if storms stutter.
Lower render distance is the biggest win on mobile. Close background apps and let the device cool down.
Xbox One, Xbox One S, PS4
Effects: Keep Northern Lights off. Weather effects are fine to leave on.
Vibrant Visuals has to be switched on manually here, and Mojang notes performance may drop on these consoles.
Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2
Effects: Everything on. Try Northern Lights in Winter.
These consoles handle High to Ultra settings with the pack. Vibrant Visuals is the default here.
Windows with a DirectX 12 GPU
Effects: Everything on, including Northern Lights.
On high-end hardware, use maximum settings with TAAU upscaling for the sharpest image.
Ranked by how much each change frees up, based on what the pack actually renders.
The biggest single lever. Fog distance follows render distance, so a shorter view still looks natural.
Huge overlapping translucent sheets that stay in the sky for minutes. It's already off by default.
Snowstorms, Enhanced Rain, and Desert Haze each add up to 150 colliding particles while it storms or in deserts.
The Vibrant Visuals preset for slower devices. Volumetric fog, shadows, and reflections cost the most in the advanced options.
Winter has the densest volumetric fog and the most snow particles. Summer has the lightest fog of the four.
Footprints, Blowing Snow, Fireflies, and Flying Birds are light, but each one you switch off helps a little.
Every effect toggle is listed on the Visual Effects page.
Seasons Realism+ works best as a global resource pack. Activate it once and every world uses it. Change seasons and effects from the settings cog next to Deactivate.
Device requirements are from Mojang's Vibrant Visuals FAQ and Switch 2 announcement. Device settings change between game updates.
